Randy has posted the Vegas pics from our NCAA first round weekend trip and while the pictures are good, he really puts a shine on Vegas like no other has done before with
this video clip (8.7 MB .mov). Backed by Jim O'Rourke's "Through the Night Softly" you almost get a sweet romantic feeling about Vegas. It's like her name is Nostalgia, and she's giving you the best lap dance ever.
I know I don't hold any unique viewpoints of the town as that book has been written a million times and it could be by anyone who has spent 24 hours there. So when I say Vegas is either perfectly horrible or horribly perfect, it really just depends on your intoxication level.

When I saw the title on this
Tale of Two Cities post I was struck with forehead-smacking regret since it reminded me of
THE obvious void in my
dating sites soundtrack piece. It's odd, "Make Out Club" was the crux, the penultimate song that gave me the idea to do it in the first place. Then I completely forgot about it in the write-up. Drugs, sorry. So if you're a completist like me, here you go. (RIAA, please stop sending those nasty emails. I swear this is the last illegal file sharing I'll do in a long time.)
Make Out Club -
Unrest "Make Out Club"
Make Out Club was one of those sites you found out about in 2000-01 and obsessed about for days, or much longer if you were under 30. Looking for like-minded indie/punk/hardcore/emo/pop guys and girls with ka-raazy IM names? This was the place. The site, like the Unrest song it's named after, is simple. You're basically looking at the same person over and over again, which is exactly the nature of the highly repetitive, yet infectious, song. Party in your parents' basement, but bring your own bottle to spin.

Okay, that's it. No more talk of Vegas or dating sites, music, etc. Offward and downward...
