Letter to the Editor of The Other Page  "All we got on this team are a buncha Jews, spics, niggers, pansies, and a booger-eatin' moron!" -Tanner Boyle, Bad News Bears I once tried to get the "I Love New York" marketing slogan replaced with the above movie quote but I was met with much resistance. The city's Asians felt under-represented. Figures. Charges of casual racism, homophobia, and anti-Semitism are reaching a fever pitch these days. A good amount of them are probably justified but it's unfortunate when it's often the minority groups playing the roles of offense and defense. It's like everyone has kicked into two-minute warning mode and brought in the special-interest team units that scramble to retain their piece of the pigskin, often to the discredit of each other. I dunno, seems like a lot of wasted effort playing the wrong game, or against the wrong opponents at least. Is it any wonder the political left of this country loses ground to the center and right every year? Now dammit, will someone please find a gay black man to take me to synagouge?
