Mojito Risin'

Yesterday, Tale of Two Cities tried to fill the void left by Boro6.com's failure and unacceptance to make New Jersey seem interesting. B6's relocated founder, Rob Sterling emailed me this report as well and leaves no question why his NJ blog never had a chance:

Part of Buena Vista Township, waaaaaaay down in S. Jersey, is renaming itself "Mojito" as part of a Bacardi promotion. Apparently Buena (pronounced by locals as "BYOO-neh") is a major source of mint leaves for Bacardi. Here's the story.

This is amusing because it is unlikely that anybody in Buena has ever had a mojito.

I had a perfect day in Buena about this time of year in 1986 or 87, at a track meet. We all climbed up on top of our school bus and laid out in the sun after our events were done, surrounded by cornfields on all sides. The cornfields ran right up to the track.

Anyway, Gawker's editor Choire Sicha had the best comment about it all:

I actually think the Quest 400 list is the single most important thing to happen to New York City since JP Morgan Jr. took a crap on the chest of his first prostitute.
