It's easy to become disillusioned in a world where American soldiers produce prison porn and the integrity of magazine editors gets called into question for rubbing elbows, hands, feet, and other bits with Hollywood's rich and famous. It's all pimps, whores, cheats, scoundrels, and mother rotten-fuckers. It's a wonder we all live to face another day. Perhaps that's why our nation's youth walk around isolated in their iPods. Music -- the only thing that liberates the soul and prevents everyone from going completely mad.

If I could turn back time...I'd make it the Sixties, Paris. Life is sweet and bouncy when viewed through the fuck-me glaze of French female pop singers. They were adored, idolized and the height of fashion, much like magazine editors hope to be. Put aside this Graydon Carter nonsense for awhile and enjoy these editors AS celebrities with their signature tunes. It all makes perfect sense. (Well, two out of four ain't bad.)
